Our October guests were super special ones: our nephew, Tripp (3 years old), and Kevin's sister, Erin! We hadn't had any guests under the age of 18, so it was really fun to mix up the normal Barcelona itinerary with kid friendly activities and to see the city through Tripp's eyes!

Erin had planned to take this trip with our brother-in-law, Kevin, but due to work conflicts, he was unable to attend. Instead, she took Tripp along for the ride and we had so much fun spending time with them both. Their visit started with coffee and breakfast at Bar Bailén, where busses frequently passed by and Tripp would exclaim, "LOOK! A bus!!" which was shortly followed by "ANOTHER BUS!!! THAT'S A BIG BUS!" We did a little introduction to the city where we walked El Born and Tripp tried out every playground we passed. We quickly learned that Tripp was very fond of every type of public transportation and we made an effort to let him try them all!
Their second day consisted of a scenic train ride to Sitges, where we played soccer and played in the sand, and had paella along the beach. In the evening, we went on a night time walk (adult dinner), where Tripp slept while we ate dinner at Cierzo!

The third day, we took a city bus to Cosmo Caixa, the science museum! Here, we all enjoyed playing with the interactive science exhibits. We walked to lunch at Mirablau and had amazing views, then took the funicular up to Tibidabo to explore. Tripp called us a taxski on the way home LOL.

Our last full day together was Erin's birthday! Erin took a morning run while Kevin and Tripp did 52 card pick-up and made pancakes for breakfast, then we went to Barceloneta Beach (delayed bus routes because of a race) and had a birthday lunch at MakaMaka, a restaurant they had gone to when they were in Spain in 2013. Kevin made chicken piccata for dinner, we had cheese cake taste testing for dessert (Jon Cake vs. Cake Me), and boarded a CROWDED metro to go watch the Magic Fountain show.
The next morning before their flight, we went to the Glories playground so Tripp could "get his sillies out" before their flight. We had a ton of fun having these two here and will always remember racing Tripp down the elevator and having his infectious laugh fill our apartment. We'll be happy to see them again in a few weeks back in Oklahoma!
