In February, we hosted Kevin's Aunt Betsy and Uncle Mike, my aunt, Co Thuy, and her husband, Uncle Bob, and our friends from Madison (now living in The Netherlands), Maggie and Ben. These were our first guests in our new apartment!

Betsy and Mike were stopping in Barcelona after spending time in several cities in France and before visiting Valencia. They had visited Barcelona about a year ago, so their visit didn't consist of the same usual highlights. Instead, we visited the Catalan Museum of Music (where Mike performed for us on guitar), took a day trip to Monserrat, tried new restaurants (our first time trying Cierzo), checked out Café Vienés (inside Hotel Casa Fuster) and the rooftop, and enjoyed Festes de Santa Eulalia. We had a lovely time chatting, playing cards, and enjoying our new neighborhood together.

Co Thuy and Uncle Bob decided to add on a stop in Barcelona on their way back from the Canary Islands! Co Thuy had been to Barcelona many years ago, but this was Uncle Bob's first time here. On our first day, we spent so long catching up that we left for lunch too late and many places were closed! For activities, they booked Uncle Bob a ticket to tour La Sagrada Familia (last minute, and in Catalan lol), and Co Thuy and I enjoyed Parc Guell together. Aside from that, we didn't have too much time together, so we spent it enjoying coffee, taking walks, and sharing meals together in our new neighborhood.

Ben and Maggie came to visit us for a weekend trip from Den Bosch in The Netherlands. Ironically, they traded cold, rainy weather for slightly less cold, rainy weather in Barcelona for the weekend. The two of them did WFH on Friday, which also consisted of a 2+ hour lunch at our new favorite restaurant, Cierzo, where Ben had what he said was the best dessert, chocolate pudding with banana cream, and exploring old town. The two of them had visited Barcelona in 2019, so the usual highlights weren't as important to them either and their only request was to play beach volleyball. So, in addition to exploring Gracia (and witnessing our first calçotada in Plaça de La Virreina), stopping at Sagrada Familia, and having amazing flan from Morreig, we also made it to the beach and played some great beach volleyball along with our friend Daniel. Maggie and I also beat Ben and Kevin at Spades. Such a fun weekend!
