From Midwest to Mediterranean

Well…we did it! By “we” I mean, my husband, Kevin, and I and by “did it” I mean moved from Madison, Wisconsin to Barcelona, Spain. We sold most of our belongings, stashed a few boxes at our parents’ houses, and packed our entire lives into three large checked bags, two carry-ons, and two backpacks.

Living abroad was not something we ever even considered a possibility, but when this opportunity arose, we were both really excited by the idea of it. I mean… it is Spain, after all! Once the decision was made, Kevin signed his offer letter and the immigration process started at the beginning of June. Fast forward four months (it was not fast, and I’ll have more to say on this later), and we finally arrived in Barcelona!

Tired after an unfortunately sleepless international flight, but happy to be here

I plan to use this blog to chronicle our time here and feature daily life, travel, lessons learned, and everything in between. I want this to be a fun outlet for me to document and share photos and experiences for myself, family, friends, and maybe even some new friends. We’ve only been here a week, and there’s already been so much worth writing about. 

For now, I’ll leave it at that. I hope you enjoy following along on this adventure with me!
